Help us fight kidney disease!
The problem:
26 million Americans have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and 90% don’t know it. You might be one of them.
You're at increased risk if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or family history of kidney disease, or if you are over 60 or are African-American, Hispanic or Native American.
Raise awareness of Chronic Kidney Disease and its risk factors. If you know, you can take action to stop it.
1. Raise awareness. Join one of the 20 DaVita KAT Walks Across America ™ taking place across the country to educate about CKD and help fight it. Register for the walk nearest you by clicking the city to the right. Most KAT Walks have free CKD testing right on site!
2. Raise funds. Every dollar counts in the fight against kidney disease. When you register for a walk, you’ll get a fundraising page you can email to your friends and family. Even if you can’t join us at an actual Walk, you can do your part by making a donation to the KAT Walks.
The best things about the KAT Walks:
1. People coming together for a worthy cause.
2. The bounce house for the kids.
3. Touching stories of those who have survived kidney disease.
4. Cool t-shirt.
5. Free CKD screening in states where the law permits it.

6. Getting your photo taken with Ripples the KAT.
7. Registration fee of $15, free to CKD patients and kids 12 & under.
8. Incentive prizes for those who raise over $100.
9. Refreshments and music.
